I promise I won’t remind my readers of this every year, but I just thought you would like to know that according to pizza.com, October is National Pizza Month! Further research indicates it was designated as such by Congress in 1987. (Don’t these guys have anything better to do–like trying to balance the budget instead?)
With only twelve months in a year, I figured that pizza could not be grabbing a spot all to itself. Sure enough, October is also the national month for at least a hundred or so other issues, subjects, and events ranging from National Cyber Security Awareness Month to Polish American Heritage Month. Can I just ask: What is this designation supposed to make us do? Eat pizza every day in October or what? What are you doing to celebrate National Pizza Month?
And just for the record:
September 5th is National Cheese Pizza Day
October 11th is National Sausage Pizza Day
November 12th is National Pizza with the Works except Anchovies Day
So, Happy National Pizza Month to all!
P.S. What happened to National Pepperoni Pizza Day? Call your Congressman and demand its recognition!
